I want to add a heartfelt thanks to all of you—my readers. Some of you have been following my work since the AfterEllen days, and I’m so grateful that you stuck around to keep reading my words. Some of you may be newer to my work, but you took the time to subscribe to my newsletter which makes me think you are, first of all, incredibly smart and good-looking, but also maybe you liked my books. I’ve been doing this author thing since 2009, and some of my books have been more popular or well-received than others. But every book I write has its fans who have written to tell me how they personally connected with that book. Sometimes your messages have come to me in handwritten letters through the old-fashioned mail. Sometimes they come to me through instagram DMs. I appreciate every one of them, because they’re how I know that I’m doing the right thing. Sometimes it has felt like the world just doesn’t really want any books about queer women, but when I feel that way I remember your messages. Thank you.
