I’m in PW!

Publishers Weekly has announced my book deal with Little, Brown!

Kate Sullivan at Little, Brown won out over four other houses for a debut YA novel by Malinda Lo titled Ash; Laura Langlie sold world rights (except Japan and U.K.) to two books. Ash is a retelling of Cinderella, only Ash doesn't fall for Prince Charming—she falls in love with a young woman. Lo is the managing editor of AfterEllen.com and used to work in the editorial department at Ballantine. Pub date is fall 2009.

Woohoo! Thanks so much to Laura Langlie for taking a chance on my book, and thanks also (lots and lots of thanks!) to the editors who liked it enough to make an offer. I was completely floored by the interest in it, and I feel incredibly lucky. I'm looking forward to working with Kate Sullivan to make it the best book it can be.

Now if only there were an extra 10 hours in each day!
