“The Fox”
First published online at Subterranean (Summer 2011)
Reprinted in the paperback edition of Huntress (June 2012)
Set in the world of Ash and Huntress, “The Fox” is about the King’s Huntress, who journeys to the edge of the Kingdom and encounters a fox spirit that challenges her to leave her past behind.
Please Note: “The Fox” is set two years after the events in Huntress, from the perspective of Kaede. I wrote this story to be readable by those who haven’t yet read Huntress, and I don’t think there are major spoilers because so much time has passed since the end of the novel. Who knows what might have happened in those intervening years? But if you are averse to all spoilers, you should not read this story until after you’ve read Huntress.
Get the paperback Huntress at Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, or Amazon. The ebook edition also includes “The Fox.”
