HUNTRESS is a Lambda Finalist!

Yesterday the Lambda Literary Award Finalists were announced, and I was so happy to learn that Huntress is a finalist in the LGBT Children’s/Young Adult category! The Lambda Awards, now in their twenty-fourth year, celebrate achievement in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender writing. The winners will be announced on June 4th, 2012.

Here are all the nominees in the LGBT Children’s/YA category:

Gemini Bites, by Patrick Ryan, Scholastic
Huntress, by Malinda Lo, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
I am J, by Cris Beam, Little, Brown Books for Children
PINK, by Lili Wilkinson, HarperCollins
Putting Makeup on the Fat Boy, by Bil Wright, Simon & Schuster

Congratulations to my fellow YA authors and to all the finalists! It’s such an honor to be recognized by the LGBT literary community. Check out all the finalists here.

Congratulations its well deserved. Huntress is awesome. Last year I thought I read less LGBTQ YA lit then the year before so I was very happy to see that I’ve read all but one of the finalist, Gemini Bites
