I have a lot to tell you all, so in no particular order, here I go:
1. I am going to New York on Wednesday for a very quick trip. I’ll be doing a few public events, such as the following:
- On Thursday, May 27 at 10 a.m., I’ll be at the Countee Cullen Branch of the New York Public Library. I’m there to talk to a bunch of students about Ash, but the event is open to the public. So if you’re in the area and are free, you’re welcome to stop by! (Event Info)
- Also on May 27, but this time beginning at 6 p.m., I’ll be attending the 22nd Annual Lambda Literary Awards. Ash is a finalist for the Lambda in the LGBT Children’s/Young Adult category. Fingers crossed! (Event Info)
2. I’m planning to swing by Book Expo on Thursday afternoon, but I probably won’t be there for long. If you’re there and you see me, feel free to say hello! I’m not doing any official “author Malinda Lo” events there; I’m actually going to do a little reporting ā and just to see it (I’ve never been).
3. I was interviewed by the Shelf Elf as part of the Summer Blog Blast Tour. Check it out here.
4. If you’re a Bay Area teen writer, there’s still time to sign up for the day-long writing workshop I’ll be co-teaching on June 19 in Corte Madera, with Cheryl Herbsman and Heidi Kling. Go here for more info or download this PDF.
5. Due to Facebook’s privacy changes (which continue to change, it seems, daily), I’ll be closing my personal Facebook account and moving everything over to a public page. So if you are one of my Facebook “friends,” please feel free to hop over to my page and click “like” to follow my updates there. I’ll be closing that personal account at the end of the week.
6. A few months ago I recorded a little audio clip about how to pronounce my name. It’s now online and you can listen to it here. Thanks, Teaching Books! That was fun.
That’s it for now. Have a great week, everybody!
