There’s a lot of walking around the woods in Ash. Actually, there’s a lot of foresty goodness in my next book, too.

I’ve always had a fascination with woods, even before I actually lived anywhere near any. But once I was really deep into writing Ash, I began to visit as many forests as I could. It was kind of a dream come true when I moved to my current house, which is a 10-minute walk from a beautiful forest full of oaks and redwoods and bay trees and madrones. I get a lot of inspiration from walking through them.
