ASH Book Launch on video

in Ash

Last Thursday was the official Ash Book Launch at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center, and I am happy to say that it was a success. People came! (Even people I didn’t know!) Books were signed! Cookies were eaten!

(Note: The fabulous Books Inc. came to sell copies of Ash, and I just wanted to let everyone know that they have several signed copies in stock right now. So if you’d like to buy a signed copy, you should call the Castro branch at 415-864-6777 to order one while supplies last! They will ship it to you wherever you are.)

I also gave a talk about the process of writing Ash, read a short excerpt from the book, and took some questions from the audience. Since many of you aren’t in San Francisco and couldn’t make it, I videotaped it for you (it’s in three parts):

Part 1: In which I talk about how I came to write Ash

Part 2: In which I read a brief excerpt from Ash

Part 3: In which I answer questions from the audience

Thank you to everybody who made my book launch possible, especially Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, and all the volunteers who helped me set up and clean up afterward. You are all incredible!

Congratulations on your launch. I finally finished the book (didn’t have time during my vacation). I don’t want to spoil it for others, but I do have some questions – can I ask here or ????

It is really good; I finished in in 2 readings!

Thanks! You can ask here or drop me a note via the Contact page. If you ask here just mark it as a spoiler.

These videos are the next best thing to being there. thanks!

I loved every minute of the reading experience that is ASH – it is pure poetic fiction. for me, a good tale is one that draws me into it, and I certainly lived in Ashe’s world for a while. my only regret is not reading this book (or anything remotely like it) as a child.
