Photo Friday: Russian River

in Photo Friday

I realize I’m posting this Photo Friday on a Saturday, but hey, “Photo Friday” is a concept, not a deadline! Plus I wanted to share these photos from our honeymoon, when Amy and I rented a house in Guerneville on the Russian River in Sonoma County.

We didn’t realize we were going to be there at the same time as Lazy Bear Weekend.

Check out the stuffed bears in the cage!

But we really enjoyed the ambiance. ;)

We also went hiking around some nearby lakes. The shoreline was thick with blackberry bushes.

Warning: These bushes are prickly!

And we braved the thorns to pluck some. There is nothing like a fat, juicy, just-picked blackberry!

Mmmm delicious!

The weather was actually pretty cool by the river, and some mornings it took a while for the fog to burn off. But I thought it was beautiful just the same.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

My wife and I have been to Lazy Bear Weekend in Guerneville twice, both times by accident, and once on our honeymoon! I just have to say, Bears and the best. No one is going to hassle two women holding hands when there are Bears to protect you. And tell you all the best restaurants to go to. :)
