A rough guide to Ash’s world

One of the first things I did when I began writing Ash was sketch out a map of Ash’s world. This was mostly because I like drawing maps of fantasy worlds (another thing I did during my super-geeky teen years), not because I was trying to be geographically accurate. (When you read Ash you’ll realize that the geography of her world moves around to suit my needs.)

Anyway, I thought you guys might like to see the map, so I’ve redrawn it and added some color. Here it is:

Obviously, this map is not drawn to scale! So look at it with a grain of salt. :)

So cool, simple yet effective. Like the way you’ve done all the trees.
Did you do any other drawings or “Conceptual art” to help visualise your world?
And as a world creator you have every right to move the borders as you see fit :-)
    Cheers

I’ve gotta say I’m impressed by this…mainly because I am one of those writers who other artistic abilities are virtually non existent.

Did you find having this little map when you were writing helped you visualize the story better?
